Preset boxes let you build a box where you choose every product and quantity, set one fixed price, and every subscriber receives exactly that box on every order.
Static boxes are built for choice, so subscribers can change what’s inside whenever they like, which works until the sampler you designed to show off your whole range turns into six of the same flavor by the third shipment. Preset is a toggle on the static box page. Turn it on, define the contents (say five of one product and six of another), and set the price for a single box or for each size, like Small at two items, Medium at four, and Large at six. At checkout the box shows up as one item with its contents listed underneath and no selection step, so subscribers see what they’re buying before they buy it, and those contents stay locked for the life of the subscription, with no edits from the subscriber and no drift across recurring orders. If you want subscribers picking their own mix, a regular static box still does that.
Preset is for the boxes where the mix itself is what you’re selling, because what a subscriber sees at checkout is what shows up at their door on order one and order twelve.
